The Facts on Human Rights Violation in Shan State

• Civilians have been threatened and forced by the junta to keep their shops open in order to prevent them to get involved in the silent strike that was called by activists.
• Fighting between ethnic armed group in Shan State caused more than 3000 Internally Displaced People (IDPs) and over 7000 people from the Karenni State fled to the Shan State due to the fighting between the military council and the People’s Defence Force (PDF).
• During this month, landmine killed TWO people and injured SIX other people in Shan State.
• The military council killed SIX people and injured ELEVEN people in Shan State.
• Military council arrested FOURTEEN people and the Kachin Independent Army (KIA)
  arrested THREE people in Shan State.
• There are TWELVE cases of Gender based violence reported in this month, mostly they are sexual violence by powerful people.
• In this month, TWO cases of robbery happened in Shan State.
