OVERALL SITUATION IN SHAN STATE

People in Shan State are struggling to deal with different kinds of adversities. People are already in a difficult situation due to conflicts by ethnic armed groups and have to face the COVID-19 pandemic and political turmoil due to the coup by the military dictatorship. As a result of the absence of the rule of law, people have nothing to rely on and face multiple violations. Some havebeen tortured, killed, or arrested, while others have been forced to flee due to fighting.
