Our Shan Spotlight of May, we spoke with Nang San Nwe, who have been involved in advocate the people to reduce the violence of human rights. She also want to let the people from the society know that women are also interest in politics and conflicts, and women are capable of finding solutions.

Nang San Nwe, a Shan woman who wants to reduce conflict and achieve peace

“Since my parents and my relatives have suffered the effects of war, I got interested in analyzing and conducting research on politics, peace, and conflicts in Burma/ Myanmar.”

My name is Nang San Nwe. I have been involved in Burma/ Myanmar’s Human Rights Movement since 2014.

“I want to reduce the violence of human rights abuses and advocate for people.  I desire to reduce the troubles of civilians who have suffered armed conflicts, and then understand the causes of conflict and find solutions to end these conflicts. That is why I got involved in the Human Rights Movement.”

Next, I want to let our society know that women are also interested in politics and conflicts, and they are capable of finding solutions. Based on that, its willingness encourages me to get involved in the country’s peace process.
