Nang Kham Awn

My name is Nang Kham Awn. I am a Networking Affair Officer at SWAN and I am a representative of SWAN as Policy Board Member at Women’s League of Burma.  

I think politics is how we find the solution for the conflict or how we manage the conflict. Politics is not only a means for politicians, it is about everyday activities even if we went to market, to school or even health issues. So I think politics is power, it’s capacity to influence the other behavior and making decisions.

In our country, people living with fear for so long. Especially when you talk about politics. But now the situation is different from the past. People’s voices are very important, especially youth and women’s voices. I think youth voice is very important to demand for the need. And it’s important to take part in any chances. Start by learning the process, involve in the process and so on. Every part is important!
