Criteria for SWAN members
Consider and accept oneself as a Shan woman
Independent with no influence from any individuals or
organizations
Keen on working for the interest of women
Interest in human rights and empowerment of women and women’s
rights work
Commitment to the principles of the organization and human
rights principles
Willing to commit time to fulfill the required criteria
Becoming a SWAN member
At least 16 years commitment to the policy, position and
belief of the organization as well as interest in supporting
and assisting the activities of the organization
No discrimination on the basis of race, religious, languages,
ages, believes, gender, marital status etc.
